In 1969, my father Wally Falke started Wally Falke’s Heating & Air Conditioning with one goal: to keep Central Valley families cool, comfortable, and healthy. As a third-generation, family-owned HVAC company, we’re just as committed to that promise today as we were over 55 years ago.
We’ve seen families suffer through brutal summer heat waves, freezing winter nights, and relentless seasonal allergies. We’ve also seen the relief on their faces once those problems are solved. Comfort and health aren’t things we take for granted, they’re the entire reason we’re in business.

When Wally Falke founded the company in 1969, he was starting more than a heating and air conditioning business. He was building something his family could be part of for generations. He brought his son, Rick, along from day one, and Rick grew up learning the trade at his father’s side. In time, Rick found the love of his life, Christi, at a local burger and ice cream joint down the road. They married, started a family, and eventually gave Wally the greatest gift of all: grandchildren.
Over the years, one small family tradition became especially meaningful. Wally gave each of his grandchildren white teddy bears, which they all lovingly called “Wally Bears.”
That same warmth and creativity showed up in how Wally ran his business. Drawing on the old tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, he ran ads where customers would describe their home as too hot or too cold. But a Wally Falke’s customer? Their home was always just right.
Decades later, that spirit was still alive in the company’s culture. When Operations Manager Ricky Garland put together a training manual, he instinctively chose a polar bear for the cover. It stopped Rick Falke in his tracks. In that image, he saw his father’s white teddy bears, the Goldilocks ads, and everything Wally Falke’s had always stood for.
He may be new to the team, but the story behind Wallace has been with our company since the very beginning.
