Third-Generation · Family-Owned
Wally Falke’s Heating & Air Conditioning has served Central Valley homes from our Turlock shop since 1969. Los Banos is a straight run down Highway 165 through Hilmar for our crews, about 40 minutes door to door. We hold C20 and C10 licenses (CSLB #312288), send our own employees rather than subcontractors, install York equipment while repairing every brand, and back the work with our Triple Trust Guarantee. We handle light commercial HVAC for Los Banos storefronts and offices as well.
Cooling · 24/7 Emergency Response
Wally Falke’s repairs all makes and models of air conditioners in Los Banos, CA. AC repair in this area usually can’t wait. Half the town spends the workday over Pacheco Pass, so a failed air conditioner is typically discovered at 7 p.m., after the house has baked all afternoon. That’s why our phone is answered around the clock and evening calls don’t wait for tomorrow’s schedule. We quote the diagnostic up front and credit it toward the repair.
The “$5,000 Rule”: Multiply the unit’s age by the repair cost, and past $5,000, replacement usually deserves a look. We’ll always provide an honest assessment after diagnostic work.
HEATING · NO-HEAT CALLS PRIORITIZED
Furnace repair in Los Banos means respecting the west-side wind. When it pours through Pacheco Pass on a January night, it can strip heat off a house in a hurry, and a furnace that limps along fine in a sheltered town gives out here. No-heat calls move to the front of our line at any hour, and every visit includes carbon monoxide and gas-leak testing before we pack up. More on our heating repair page.
HEATING + COOLING · FREE IN-HOME ESTIMATES
Los Banos has more than tripled in population since the ’90s, and the infrastructure from each building boom is wearing out in the order it was built, starting with the ’90s tracts, followed by the 2000s subdivisions. When yours comes due, we replace air conditioners, furnaces, and complete systems with York equipment sized to the actual house, quoted free at your kitchen table, financing available. Compare your options on our AC installation and furnace installation pages, or skip ahead and call.

24/7 · REAL PEOPLE, REAL DISPATCH
Call Wally Falke’s at midnight and you’re talking to a person who can actually dispatch a truck, not an overnight answering service that takes a message for the morning. We triage by severity, with elderly households and heat-wave no-cool calls first, and we’ll tell you honestly how long the run to the west side will take. No surprise after-hours pricing.
The open west side is dusty country. Wind off the grasslands and worked fields loads filters and coats condenser coils faster than in the valley’s tree-lined towns, and a system that never gets cleaned works harder every season. Twice-a-year service, cooling in spring and heating in fall, goes a long way. VIP Maintenance Plan members get both visits scheduled for them, priority dispatch, and repair discounts. .

HEAT PUMPS · REPLACEMENT & REPAIR
A lot of Los Banos heat pumps went in during the 2000s boom and are aging out together, so by the time we’re called, the real question is usually replacement. We give you actual numbers: repair cost against remaining life, and operating cost under the WestLight electricity arrangement covered below. We service every brand, and install York ducted systems and ductless mini-splits. If the unit still has years left, we’ll say so. Start at our heat pumps page.

Los Banos buys its electricity differently from every other town we serve. In 2022 the city joined Peninsula Clean Energy, a community-choice provider, and as of July 2026 that provider goes by WestLight Energy. WestLight buys the power; PG&E still owns the lines, reads the meter, sends the bill, and supplies all the natural gas. Same wires, different supplier, and it can change which efficiency rebates a Los Banos address can claim. We sort that out and file the paperwork with the job.
The town itself is the valley’s great commuter story: nearly 50,000 people where 17,000 lived in 1990, whole neighborhoods built for households that cross Pacheco Pass before sunrise. Summers push past 100°, January nights drop into the 30s, and the west-side wind works on a house all year.

Beyond the Big Six
A live person answers at any hour, and they can send help, not just take a message. Our crews come down Highway 165 through Hilmar, about 40 minutes from the Turlock shop, and most calls get same-day service. No-heat and no-cool emergencies move to the front of the line. There’s no travel charge for Los Banos addresses.
Most companies charge a diagnostic fee to come out, then quote the repair. We tell you our diagnostic price when you call, put the repair quote in writing before any work starts, and credit the diagnostic toward the repair if you go ahead. Be wary of anyone who quotes a fix before diagnosing the system.
When the repair quote times the system’s age passes $5,000, replacement is usually the smarter spend. Plenty of systems from the ’90s and 2000s building booms are crossing that line right now, so we put both numbers in front of you after the diagnostic and let you decide with real figures.
The usual culprits: a clogged condenser or filter, a refrigerant leak, or a capacitor that quit in the afternoon heat. Turn the system off so you don’t damage the compressor, then call. Evening calls are answered like any other.
Both, on every brand, ductless mini-splits included. If yours has good years left, we’ll repair it and tell you so. If it’s done, we’ll quote a replacement before we leave the driveway.
Two companies, two roles. WestLight Energy, called Peninsula Clean Energy until July 2026, supplies the electricity itself; PG&E delivers it, maintains the lines, sends the bill, and provides all the natural gas. It matters for rebates, since programs differ by supplier. We check what your project qualifies for and file it.
We’re a Turlock family company, three generations since 1969, a straight run up Highway 165. Around Los Banos we also serve Dos Palos, Gustine, and Santa Nella; Merced has its own page. We also handle light commercial work in town.
