Most people assume the whole valley is on PG&E; Merced is the exception. Merced Irrigation District (MID), a locally-governed public-power utility, serves electricity to homes in parts of Merced along with Atwater, Winton, and Livingston, while PG&E serves the rest of the city and provides natural gas everywhere. To know which is yours, look at who sends your electric bill.
If MID is your utility, you tap MID’s own published rebates on tune-ups, qualifying high-efficiency AC and heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and smart thermostats. On PG&E, rebates run through PG&E and California’s statewide programs, several waitlisted as of early 2026. We work both sides, tell you which program your address qualifies for, and handle the paperwork.
